Title: Supervisor, Medical Bill Review

Salus Contribution: Juanita obtained her Bachelor's degree from the University of North Texas, School of Public Affairs and Community Service (PACS). She holds a certification in Volunteer Management and a Texas Adjuster's license. But that’s not all! Juanita regularly participates in continuing education courses to maintain her license. She loves to learn and grow her skills. Before joining Salus, Juanita worked in Human Resources handling benefits administration for a manufacturing company. Fluid in Spanish, Juanita also assisted Spanish-speaking employees with their insurance claims and gathering the necessary paperwork.
She then came to Salus (yay!) where she was tasked with learning everything about medical bill review. In her 20 years, Juanita’s held a variety of positions within the team including Analyst, Quality Control, and her current role as Supervisor, Medical Bill Review. She’s enjoyed the opportunity to work directly with clients to optimize cost containment efforts while getting the best care for their injured workers. Her favorite thing about working at Salus is the flexible work environment. “We can work from home or the office which allows us to balance home and work life. I also feel valued as an individual and the experience that I bring to our team. Here I’m constantly learning new processes and programs.”
Hobbies: Juanita is proud to have reached the rank of 5th degree blackbelt in Taekwondo and is also a Senior Certified Instructor. We’re proud too...and a little frightened! She enjoys volunteering at her church, St Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Grapevine, a community she’s been a part of for over 20 years. Since Covid kept her home, she took it on herself to paint every single room in the house, even learning how to change electrical outlets - her newest skill! She offers this "service" to her grown kids as well now that they all own their own homes.
